CHILL OUT BUNGALOWS
Nestled in the vibrant jungle, below the towering limestone cliffs you will find our cosy Thai style bungalows. As well our bar we offer refuge from the hustle and bustle of tourist towns like Ao nang. Escape your worries and stay with us in one of our 35 simple dwellings .Open your heart to the jungle and its habitants, sit on your decking and watch the monkeys in the trees.
We have a selection of Small/ standard bungalows, Dorm rooms or family bungalows. Each bungalow is crafted from natural materials and the semi open private bathrooms give you the real jungle experience. Built on an incline our very top bungalows give spectacular views, each bungalow faces our wild garden which is home to many species and Charlie our goat!
If you enjoy or wish to experience living an easy life and you are not afraid of nature and natural surroundings then our small resort may be for you. Due to the island style Tonsai has yet to have mains electricity. This means that everywhere runs on generators. We use our generator at the times it is most needed. This means that during day time hours it’s mostly off. For some this may be an issue but it does give you a good excuse to leave that phone behind! Wifi is available in the bar area during power hours.
Small / Standard selection – These bungalows are perfect for friends or couples travelling together who want privacy. There is a choice of a double bed or twin beds for those who don’t want to share. The rooms boast their own bathroom and wooden decking which is a great space to pitch up a hammock and watch the world go by. Please note some of the small rooms are without a sink.
Dorm rooms – We are proud to offer our ever popular dorm rooms sleeping min 3 up to 6. Each dorm has its own lockers for extra security and shared bathroom facilities.
Family rooms – We offer a small selection of family rooms sleeping up to 3 people. Larger in space, these rooms are perfect for small groups of friends or couples with a child.
The Chill out Bungalows are minimally furnished with essential items which include their own bathrooms with refreshing cold water shower, and bucket method to flush the toilet. Inside the bungalows there are mosquito nets and a wall fan. As the bungalows are made of wood you can expect gaps in the floor so remember it’s always best to eat outside! Ants can invade the smallest of space. Expect to see a cockroach or two but do please remember we LIVE In a humid jungle this is their home. We have also decked the bungalows with their own terrace so you can sit and relax.
If the above sounds ghastly to you and you can’t live without your fluffy slippers and air con then one of the many options around the area may suit you better. But guest are encouraged to open their hearts and minds and embrace the warmth of the Chill out style and I promise you won’t regret it. You can submerse yourself in the tranquility of the tropical jungle but also have peace of mind that should you need anything our reception area and bar is not far away. In high season the resort is buzzing with food vendors, selling you their local delights so you will never go hungry and the onsite mini mart will ensure you never run out of your essentials.
Camping is welcome, so pitch up a tent to really rough it.
